Many computers and computer programs will cease to function properly on January 1, 2000. Anyone who relies on computers should make sure all of their hardware and software is year 2000 compliant.
486 and earlier computers may not be able to increment dates properly after December 31, 1999. If you have any of these classes of personal computers, you need to have them checked.
All software both off-the-shelf (purchased from a vendor) and custom should be tested for year 2000 functionality. Custom software is especially vulnerable to the year 2000 problem.
We can help in several ways, if you are in the Stephenville/Waco/Austin area, we will be glad to discuss with you personally all aspects of year 2000 compliance.
If you are anywhere else in the world, we can still augment your in-house MIS department by providing COBOL, FORTRAN, Informix 4GL and Microsoft Access programming services via the Internet. We can accept programs from you via e-mail, make the necessary modifications and e-mail them back to you for compilation and testing. This option allows you to maintain direct control of all final testing. Also, we can modify, compile and test your programs on-line with telnet access to your computers. If you use MicroFocus COBOL (VS or II), we can correct, compile and test (provided we can download the appropriate databases) your programs on our computers. We have experienced programmers on hand to handle large or small projects.
