BAND FANS
to support over 400 students in the Stephenville Bands!
Beginning in sixth grade, these talented musicians sharpen their skills daily at school during band class in addition to daily individual practice, private lessons, and extra practices for contests and concerts.
Research shows that students participating in school music activities excel as a group in grades, SAT scores, ACT scores, leadership, and other indicators of academic success.
During the 1998-1999 school year, students in the Stephenville Bands will continue the tradition of excellence with extraordinary accomplishments in UIL Marching Contests, UIL Concert and Sight-Reading Contests, All-Region Band, All-Area Band, All-State Band, Region and State UIL Solo & Ensemble Contests, Summer Band Camps, Local and regional performances during the year by the Sixth Grade Band, Junior High Bands, High School Bands, Color Guard, SHS Jazz Band, and SHS Percussion Ensemble.
The Stephenville Band Fans is an organization of parents and supporters who believe that the Stephenville Bands offer hundreds of students and opportunity to excel musically, develop leadership and work as a team. Funds raised by this group help band directors Jim Alexander, Michael Childs, Jim Perry, and other staff provide quality learning experiences with the best in equipment, instruments, music, clinics, instruction, competitions, and various opportunities for the student.
Because of school budget
restrains this year, SBFC may need to supplement the program by as much as $30,000.
That's a lot of money!!
