Dear Friends of the Band,
The Stephenville Band Fans have found a way to honor Jim Harwell, former Stephenville Band Director, who has
passed away. The Stephenville Band Fans Annual Scholarship has been renamed the Jim
and Rosie Harwell Band Scholarship.
The scholarship has been given annually for many years to SHS senior band members who wish to continue their music
education through the college of their choice. Changing the name of the scholarship
is a way to ensure that Mr. Harwell will not be forgotten. Rosie Harwell was a
mother to many band members besides being Mr. Harwell's unofficial assistant at football
games and many contests; therefore, the scholarship also honors her.
Since the scholarship has been renamed, it will be supported by
private donations. Former band students of Mr.
Harwell and parents of former band students will be contacted to help support this cause.
Those who wish to donate to the Jim and Rosie Harwell Band
Scholarship may do so by using the form below or by
making a direct donation to SHS BAND FANS at the high school. Mr. Jim Perry, assistant band director and former
Harwell student, will be waiting to hear from you.
